Authors on the Plaza is a free, family-friendly special event for the Sonoma community hosted by the Sonoma Valley Authors Festival on Saturday, August 27, from 11am to 1pm.

In 2022, we are again honored that Cathy and Chuck Williamson will underwrite Authors on the Plaza on Saturday, August 27. Humorist Dave Barry will kick-off the event, followed by New York Times best-selling fiction author, Amor Towles, talking about his newest book, The Lincoln Highway, then Mary Roach, a non-fiction writer of science-based topics with a generous helping of humor added. She will discuss her most recent book, Fuzz: When Nature Breaks the Law about the conflicts between wildlife and humans.

Please revisit this page for updates on the additional speakers for the 2022 Authors on the Plaza.

A limited number of folding chairs will be available on a first-come, first-served basis for those for whom sitting on the ground is too difficult.

This event is part of the annual Sonoma Valley Authors Festival, the three-day-weekend lecture series held Aug 26-28 at the Sonoma Mission Inn (purchase passes at our website) and Students Day at local schools on Friday, August 26 (not open to the public). The Sonoma Valley Authors Festival is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

Prevailing COVID protocols will be followed. No single-use plastic bottles are allowed on the Sonoma Plaza.

We hope to see you at this family-friendly event!
