Burrough began his career at The Wall Street Journal, where he earned critical acclaim, winning the prestigious Gerald Loeb Award for financial journalism three times. His investigative journalism and expertise in complex financial stories are renowned.

Burrough has authored or co-authored eight books, including four New York Times bestsellers, including Public Enemies, which chronicles America’s crime wave and the birth of the FBI, and The Big Rich, exploring Texas oil dynasties, and Forget the Alamo, which challenges historical myths.

Burrough has been a correspondent for Vanity Fair since 1992 and is a longtime Editor at Large at Texas Monthly.

He earned a B.A. in journalism from the University of Missouri School of Journalism.
